My teaching career started in 1996 when I taught 5th grade at Humann Elementary for four years. I then taught 6th grade for two years before accepting the Coordinator position at Humann. I was the Coordinator there for three years. This is my second year at Lakeview and I’m certainly enjoying the experiences of a smaller school. I am married and have two daughters. My oldest daughter; Addie, attends first grade at Randolph Elementary. My youngest daughter; Bella, is three years old and she attends Noah’s Ark Preschool. Besides spending time with my wife and daughters, I enjoy home remodeling projects as well as gardening and sports. |

Hello, my name is Michelle Lemke and I am secretary/registrar at Lakeview Elementary School. I am in my fifth year at Lakeview. I was born and raised in Osmond, NE, not that anyone has ever heard of it. I come from a family very involved in education. My mom and dad are both teachers. I have one older sister who is a teacher at Northeast Community College in Norfolk. She is married and has two children Breanna and Connor, ages 8 and 7. They live in Winside, NE and are a very special part of my life. I received my bachelor's degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Human Resource Management and Office Administration from Wayne State College in December 2000. Before moving to Lincoln I was the Bridal Consultant for Herberger's in Norfolk, NE. I have a part time job at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln working for the Bureau of Sociological Research conducting interviews/surveys. It sure gives you a chance to talk to a lot of interesting people all across the country. I also work at Lakeview after school a few days a week for the Community Learning Center. Since starting at Lakeview I have been a member of the Lincoln Public Schools Association of Office Professionals. Through this organization I have had many amazing opportunities and a chance to meet some wonderful people. Since being a member I have served on several committees including: by-laws and standing rules, scholarship, nominations, Chronicle editor and this year I am serving as Secretary. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, cooking, reading, watching movies and exercising. |
