Kathy Horejsi

4th Grade

Ever since playing school on my back porch in 19something, I always knew teaching was going to be my passion. After graduating from UNL, I married my high school sweetheart, Tom. We lived in Lincoln for two years while I taught at Lakeview. After an opportunity to move to Washington State emerged, we decided with no children, it would be an adventure. I was fortunate to teach out there, and we were extremely lucky to have our daughter, JJ, born during Mt. St. Helen’s eruption. With family being a huge priority, we moved back to Nebraska to be near grandparents. After returning, to Lincoln, I began teaching at Elliott Elementary. During this time, we were lucky again because our son, Grant, was born. After seven years of teaching at Elliott Elementary, I was called back to Lakeview Elementary. The Lakeview Community is the best place in Lincoln, NE. The families and students are the epitome of what makes Lincoln the best place to live and teach.
