LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

The implementation of PLC’s will result in several early release days during the 2007-2008 school year. On the dates listed below, school will begin at the usual time and end at 2:20.

May 27

We recognize that an early release on these three days may be a disruption in your family’s schedule. We appreciate your support of our teachers in this work. Your help in picking up students promptly at 2:20 will be appreciated and buses will run accordingly. The CLC Program will be available only to those students in the “core” program. If students go to CLC after school for clubs or activities only, alternate arrangements will need to be made.

It would be helpful if parents would call the school and let the office or your child’s teacher know of the arrangements that have been made.

School Improvement Goal

All students will improve writing across all curricular areas by:

  • Implementing the six-trait writing curriculum.
  • Conducting one-to-one writing conferences with students.
  • Participating in Professional Learning Communities as it relates to teaching students how to become better writers.
  • Assessing the writing process with students.

Safe Dismissal Procedures at Lakeview School

To insure the safety of students and drivers we ask that families picking up students after school by car travel from the east on West Q street, enter the parking lot, remain in your car and move forward. Teachers will dismiss students to you. You should then exit the parking lot to the west toward Capital Beach Blvd. Please do not instruct children to cross the street in the middle of the block without an adult accompanying them. If you need to get out of your car there is limited space in the cutout on West Q Street.
